Fully compatible with KM6LYW’s digiPi image, the HAT allows you to operate digital modes remotely through a web browser on a tablet or smartphone. No keyboard or monitor required. Simply boot your Raspberry Pi with the digiPi image and enjoy a seamless user interface for modern amateur radio digital operation.
Prefer your own setup? The digiPi HAT also works with standard Raspberry Pi OS (Raspbian or Debian). Just install your preferred ham radio software like WSJT-X, Direwolf, or FLDIGI. Please note, the TFT LCD display is only supported with custom code unless using KM6LYW’s pre-built image.
Key Features:
-
Integrated TFT LCD Display
-
Two Configurable Buttons
-
I2C Expansion Headers for BME680, GPS, or other I2C-compatible sensors
-
Compatible with KM6LYW digiPi image for web-based control of FT8, APRS, and more
-
Standalone operation with WSJT-X, Direwolf, etc., on Raspberry Pi OS
With optional sensors, the digiPi HAT can transmit environmental data via APRS beacons, including temperature, humidity, air pressure, and GPS coordinates. For more advanced use cases, the HAT’s LoRa compatibility enables packet receive and retransmission via APRS (custom scripting in C++ or Python required).
Note: You do not need a BME680 or GPS module to use this HAT for standard ham radio digital modes like FT8 or APRS.
